Abigail is a passionate foodie who is now realising her life long dream of running a food business.

With a French mother and a half Greek partner, mealtimes have always been an important part of Abigail’s life.

Through those special family moments centred around spending time together while sharing great food, Abigail’s learned the importance of transforming a simple meal into a memorable experience.

Following over 25 years in corporate life as a communications consultant and event director, Abigail decided to step back, retrain and launch a new career centred around her dream.

Following a variety of high end cookery courses at the likes of Leith’s Cookery School and Tante Marie Culinary Academy, alongside hosting several complex dinner parties and daily cooking marathons (much to her partner’s delight – but no so much for his waistline!!), in 2017, Abigail finally realised her dream and launched Pot-au-feu.

I decided to call the business Pot-au-feu in honour of this classic and iconic French dish. The name pot-au-feu (pot on the fire) comes from the practice of the cooking pot being left to do its job while standing on a trivet at the corner of an open fire or on the corner of the range. Described by my French mum as “a special, homely, family, rustic meal that can serve large families and be eaten in different ways during the week”, I couldn’t think of a more fitting name that sums up the business.

Pot-au-feu is a Brighton based food business centred around exciting and inspiring people about home cooked food. Whether that’s through cookery classes, home cooked meals in Pot-au-feu Supper Club, private catering for your special day, or our home delivery service – Pot-au-feu aims to turn every meal into an experience.

Our cookery classes aim to excite and inspire you to cook at home. We help take the fear out of cooking while introducing you to new methods and new ingredients. We pride ourselves on creating a relaxed, informal and homely atmosphere where Abigail carefully guides you through creating new food experiences – all at your own pace.

All of our classes are built around you. We tailor our classes based on what you’ve asked for and will constantly tweak or create new classes based on your feedback.

Pot-au-feu Supper Club is an alternative restaurant experience – you get restaurant quality food, but in a more homely and informal atmosphere, with food cooked to your liking in full view of your table.

As with our cookery classes, our Supper Clubs are built around you. We tailor our evenings around what you want and build your dining experience around what you’ve asked for.

Pot-au-feu private catering provides high quality food solutions for any special occasion – whether that’s a special birthday party, corporate lunch or a dinner party served up in your own home.

No event is the same and we’re focused on working closely with you to fully personalise your event.

With many years experience of organising high quality corporate events and parties, we also provide additional event management services. So, if you’d rather hand over all the organising to someone else, just let us know and we’ll craft the perfect party or event for you.

As with our cookery classes, Supper Club and private catering, everything is built around you and what you’ve asked for. In a recent questionnaire, many of you said you’d be interested in a home delivery service.

So, very soon, we’ll be launching a new service delivering home cooked food to your door – whether that’s just a one off meal or a set of meals to have through the week or pop into your freezer.
